Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action to aid in cultivating grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
Provides a foundation in first response trauma care
Teaches the initial steps needed to care for bleeding patients
Explains the importance of tourniquet use to control life-threatening bleeding from arm or leg
Demonstrate how to apply a tourniquet to the arm and leg
Demonstrate how to “pack a wound” and apply pressure to control bleeding
Explain why it is important to identify injuries to the chest and abdomen
Explain the need for victims with these injuries to be transported immediately to an appropriate
